Welcome to SrilanCan Commiunity & religion services
The island of Sri Lanka accommodates the religious practices of many faiths. It is known for its religious diversity, which includes Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Roman Catholicism. Religious tolerance and respect for one another make Sri Lanka a country which thrives on the combined influence of many influential religious leaders.
Communities of immigrant Sri Lankans across the globe depict the diversity of religion in Sri Lankan nationality, particularly in countries such as Canada, Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom. In such countries, religious institutions created and maintained by the Sri Lankan community are openly accessible to all. The importance of culture-based religion is a highlight amongst Sri Lankan communities worldwide.
Religion, regardless of its numerous titles, proposes several common ideologies such as love, peace, and happiness. In the context of human life, religion aids in the improvement of one's well being by practicing wholesome living, thus enriching the prospects for the journey beyond. All religions play equally important roles in shaping the outlook of modern society, and their themes are largely similar, regardless of the source, may it be the Dhammapada, the Holy Bible, the Bhagawat Geeta, Rig Veda, or the Holy Quran.
“All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom.” – Albert Einstein.
